Nancy recently moved to Gold Beach from Cortez, in the Four Corners area of Colorado. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Ohio State University with a major in English Literature and a minor in Psychology. She and her family traveled extensively spending a a year in Tehran, Iran where Nancy's husband was Deputy Director of the Peace Corps, then another year in Saigon, Vietnam where Nancy worked for a Vietnamese news/wire service. Nancy was employed at Norlin Library on the University of Colorado campus in Boulder. She received special recognition for cataloging a 10,000 volume collection of rare photography books. Nancy has been active in communities where she has lived. In Cortez she served on the Library Board and was a volunteer there. She cooked for the soup kitchen sponsored by local churches. She also volunteered at the local thrift shop, sorting clothing for the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. Nancy enjoys gardening but has found no resemblance to Colorado's flora, so she will be spending time studying the Sunset Gardening book. After living for years in Florida on the Gulf, she finds it good to be back near the ocean.
